Herzogenrath-based AIXTRON SE, a leading company in the semiconductor industry, has expanded its existing office and laboratory buildings with a new building in the immediate vicinity.

The new facility was built on an area of ≈ 60,000 sqm and comprises besides an office building a research and development centre. This consists of a laboratory wing technical centre, an area for testing and manufacturing prototypes and a logistics zone. Calenberg products provide structural support for the prefabricated components and steelwork. Structural bearings approved by the building authorities, such as Compact Bearings S 65 and perforated bearing type Z, were predominantly used for load centring. Furthermore, significant movements were allowed as planned using the Civalit® plain bearing system. Carrying linear loads on brackets has been realised with the building authority approved bi®-trapez bearing from Calenberg.
